Hi All,
I'm thinking of signing up for BookShare. Any thoughts? For those of you who have subscribed, have you found it easy, useful and-or a good product? Also, are users allowed to download the files to a compact flash, because that's what I do to get books and files onto my BN. I'm not great shakes with ActiveSync. I've got a compact flash reader rigged to my PC so that's how I do computer files to BrailleNote stuff. I don't have Internet on my braillenote wirelessly yet, obviously, since it's not out, and I don't really now how to do it anyway.
Thanks for any thoughts.
Caitlin
Hey. Bookshare for me is definitely worth the price. There are always good books coming out at least a few times a month and apparently now they want to start having magazines and newspapers.
Also, they don't care where you put your books, as long as your BN can unpack the .bks or whatever the Daisy formatted ones are. Usually what I do is unpack them on the comp, and when it asks me where to save them I store them on the flash card.
Great to hear. I may well sign up.

Okay well I just found out that I'm about to get my BN upgrade with the unpacking software for BookShare. SO after I get that, I'll probably sign up .

Hi!
i am an avid user of bookshare.org
I read the books on my pac-mate, and I have to unpack them on my PC first, but that all is about to change, because freedom scientific is coming out with an unpack utility, and a DAISY Reader for the pac-mate.
So, not only will I be able to read .brf books on my pac-mate, but I will not have to unpack them on the PC first, and I will be able to read DAISY Books on the pac-mate too.
I can't wait.

Woot, that's so cool! I've heard you can unpack them on the PC. That's cool, but it'll be much easier to just do it on my BN. Caitlin
